Battlestations Pacific is a narrative-driven, free-to-play naval action game created by Ubisoft and published by Ubisoft for the PC. This game is available in two different editions: Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition of Battlestations Pacific allows players to enjoy all the bells and whistles while some of the features of the Digital Deluxe Edition are disabled until you purchase them; additionally, both editions can be played on computers with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7/8/10 operating systems respectively. It was released on In Battlestations: Pacific, players can fight in some of the most famous battles from World War II including Pearl Harbor, Leyte Gulf and Iwo Jima. The game features a co-operative campaign in which up to eight players can fight against either computer or human opponents in a variety of well-known scenarios. Each battle comprises one or more objectives that must be taken in order to progress to the next level. In addition to its single-player/co-operative campaigns, Battlestations: Pacific includes a competitive multiplayer component with four different modes: "Skirmish", "Domination", "Conquest" and "Battle". Battlestations: Pacific had a "Making of" trailer released in 2009, and a cinematic trailer released in 2011 which featured the voice talents of Nathan Fillion and Michael Jai White. Ubisoft has confirmed that Battlestations: Pacific is to be released on Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 5, 2012 during their E3 press conference. Later the same year on August 25, 2012 Ubisoft posted a teaser trailer for Battlestations: Pacific on Facebook with the tagline "Go down with this ship". On September 11, 2012 Ubisoft confirmed that Battlestations: Pacific would be delayed to 2013 and it won't release on any new platform. In addition to the planned release of the game on Xbox 360 and PS3, a free-to-play version of Battlestations: Pacific, called "Battlestations: Pacific Mobile", was released in 2013. Battlestations: Pacific received "mixed or average" reviews, according to video game review aggregator Metacritic. In Japan, "Famitsu" gave it a score of two sevens and one eight for a total of 30 out of 40. In July 2011 an unofficial public beta test was announced by fansites Battlestationen.com founded by Fredrik Olausson and BattleAssets.se founded by Karl Jansson on Facebook. The two fan pages promoted the beta test by announcing that they were accepting applicants, and that the beta test would be available for free for players who were already registered on the Battlestationen.com website. No official announcement was made of the legitimacy of this beta test.
